Police are trying to identify a man who may have witnessed a homicide in Dartmouth, N.S., last month. Halifax Regional Police responded to a shooting on Lahey Road around 10:30 p.m. on June 26. The victim, 39-year-old Thomas Junior Downey, died at the scene. His death is being investigated as a homicide. “Police are looking to speak with a man who was in the area that night and may have witnessed the incident,” said Halifax police in a news release Monday. “He is not considered a suspect.” The man was captured on surveillance video near a vehicle believed to be a newer-model black Nissan Kicks. He was wearing a white shirt and a black ball cap. Investigators have previously said they don’t believe the shooting was a random incident.
