The number of Nova Scotians in need of a family doctor has gone down since last month, according to the latest numbers released from Nova Scotia Health. The health authority says 49,338 Nova Scotians are currently on the Need a Family Practice Registry. That number is down over 3,000 since last month, which showed 52,771 Nova Scotians were still on the registry. “By the end of September, the number of Nova Scotians on the registry decreased by 3,433. This number reflects the cumulative result of activity on the registry since its creation, including registrations, attachments to a family doctor or nurse practitioner, and other updates to registration status over time,” read the update from Nova Scotia Health on Wednesday. According to Nove Scotia Health, around 4.5 per cent of Nova Scotians are still on the registry. For more Nova Scotia news, visit our dedicated provincial page
