N.S. RCMP believe burnt SUV connected to Cherry Brook shooting

The Nova Scotia RCMP is asking the public for information following a shooting and a vehicle fire near Dartmouth on Monday.

The RCMP and Halifax Regional Police first responded to reports of shots fired on Cherry Brook Road in Cherry Brook around 3:40 p.m.

Officers found shell casings in the 100 block of the road.

Police say two vehicles were involved in the shooting, a black car and a brown or grey SUV.

Officers and fire crews later responded to a nearby vehicle fire on Lake Eagle Drive in East Preston around 9:20 p.m.

The burnt vehicle was an SUV. Police believe it is the same vehicle involved in the Cherry Brook shooting.

Police are asking anyone with information about the incidents, or dashcam footage, to call them at 902-490-5020 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).

The investigations are ongoing.
