A 29-year-old man wanted on a Canada-wide warrant is facing additional charges after the Nova Scotia RCMP arrested him for allegedly stealing a truck in Inverness County last week. Police received a report of a truck stolen from Middle River around 1:35 p.m. on Thursday. An officer spotted a black Chevrolet Silverado on Highway 105 in Baddeck, but did not pursue it out of concern for public safety. Another officer saw the Silverado on Highway 105 in Boularderie East around 2:15 p.m. and tried to stop it. The truck fled at a high rate of speed, according to an RCMP news release. Police used a spike belt on Highway 105, deflating all four tires on the truck. The driver fled on foot and police arrested him a short time later. Dylan Edwards, from North Sydney, was wanted on a warrant for parole violations.
