Nova Scotia announced Tuesday applications are now open for the Seniors Care Grant. The $750 grant is available for Nova Scotians 65 and older. Seniors can apply now for the grant to help with health care or household costs, applications will close March 31, 2026. The grant is available for seniors with a household income of $45,100 or less. “For many older adults, the Seniors Care Grant program can give them the support they need to make daily life more manageable,” said Allison Davis, executive director at Spencer House Seniors Centre in Halifax. “At Spencer House Seniors Centre, we make sure our members know about it, encourage and support them with the application, and celebrate alongside them. This grant can help seniors hold on to their dignity and independence – and that means everything.” The annual grant helps seniors across the province with costs such as home heating, phone and internet services, prescription deliveries or other essential needs. “This program gives seniors across Nova Scotia peace of mind and support that can help them maintain their independence,” said Barbara Adams, minister of Seniors and Long-Term Care. “Getting a little help with household chores, snow removal or with the costs of home heating can go a long way for seniors who want to stay in their homes and communities.” Applications are available online or print applications can be picked up at Access Nova Scotia and MLA officers.
