People looking to cool off in the Halifax area will have a few more options to do so next week. The pool on the Halifax Mainland Common and all municipal splash pads will open on Monday. The 25-metre, five-lane pool features three climbing walls, a beach entry, play features and large universal change rooms. Lockers and adaptive equipment are also available. Swimming lanes and open swims are free and available on a first-come, first-served basis. The eight splash pads are located across the Halifax Regional Municipality: The splash pads will be open from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Friday and from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday during the month of June. They will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. every day beginning next month. The Halifax Common Pool and municipal splash pads typically close for the season on Sept. 15.
