Fishery officers freed roughly 1,640 lobsters, releasing them back into the water after finding illegal cages at the wharf in Saulnierville, N.S. Fisheries and Oceans (DFO) says it was during a routine inspection the 15 untagged sunken lobster holding cages were located last month. Without tags, the cages were being used in contravention of licence conditions. “An investigation is currently underway, as such no further information will be provided,” DFO says in a social media post on Friday.
