The Cape Breton Regional Municipality has lifted a boil water advisory in Louisbourg, N.S., after issuing it on Wednesday. The municipality put out the advisory following a major water main break. Sampling has confirmed the water is now safe for consumption and regular use, according to a news release. “Repairs have been completed and water quality testing has verified that the system meets all safety requirements,” the release reads. “Residents no longer need to boil their water before drinking, preparing infant formula, making ice, washing fruits and vegetables, cooking, or brushing teeth.” The Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site was closed on Wednesday due to the boil water order.
