The 40th annual Busker Festival kicks off in Halifax on Wednesday. It was founded in 1986, scouring the globe for street performers and musicians to perform each year. The six-day festival runs over Nova Scotia’s Natal Day long weekend with dozens of shows on different stages. It takes place on the waterfront until Monday, with stages at the Halifax Seaport, the Maritime Museum, Sackville Landing and Foundation Wharf. The festival is free, but organizers encourage attendees to tip the performers. Performers from around the world are lined up to busk, including 2025’s People’s Choice winner Pancho Libre of Mexico, Hannah Cryle from Australia, Canada’s Silver Elvis and much more. Organizers say there will also be vendors, food trucks, rides and fireworks for Natal Day on Saturday.
