After more than 12 years of business, 2 Doors Down is closing its Halifax location in the new year, although it says it plans to keep its Dartmouth spot open. In a Facebook post, the restaurant said it will officially close on Jan. 1, 2026. Its last service will be New Year’s Eve. “This chapter holds so many memories—first dates, family celebrations, nights filled with laughter, and everyday moments that became part of our story,” the post reads. “Halifax welcomed us with warmth from the very beginning, and we are endlessly grateful. “We also want to thank every staff member who has been part of 2 Doors Down Halifax over the years. Their dedication, talent, and heart brought this restaurant to life.” 2 Doors Down opened on Barrington Street in 2013. It expanded to Dartmouth Crossing in 2019. “Although we are saying a good-bye to Barrington Street, the essence of 2 Doors Down keeps strong in our Dartmouth Crossing location, continuing to serve with the same heart, flavour and hospitality,” the post reads.
