Saint John Transit is preparing to raise fares for multi-ride passes. As of Jan. 1, 2027, the City of Saint John said monthly and 10-Ride Transcards will increase by an average of 1.5 per cent. For example, the adult monthly pass will increase by $1.25 to $84.75. It said fare increases will “allow the Saint John Transit Commission to address rising costs.” This includes fuel, vehicles, maintenance and insurance as the “agency continues to introduce new technology and system enhancements.” Single cash fares for in-city routes will remain at $3 and Comex cash fare will remain at $4.50. The city said riders who use STJRides, which is the account-based mobile ticketing app, will continue to see the introductory promotional discount of five per cent per fare purchase in 2027.
