Saint John police arrest man on drug trafficking charges, allegedly seize cocaine

A 49-year-old man has been arrested on cocaine trafficking charges after a drug investigation by Saint John police.

Officers arrested him from a vehicle on Friday around 2:45 p.m.

After the arrest, police say they seized:

• $217.15 in cash
• 29 grams of powder cocaine
• 19 grams of crack cocaine
• 70 Percocet pills
• 11 cellphones
• an ASP baton
• a folding knife

The estimated street value of the drugs is roughly $5,150.

The man was charged with:

• possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
• possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000

He was released and is set to appear in provincial court on Dec. 3.
