A 42-year-old man from Nasonworth, N.B., has been charged after reportedly “causing a disturbance” involving a firearm on Monday. Police responded to the report at a residence on Route 101 around 11:13 a.m. “When members arrived at the scene, it was learned that the 42-year-old man had pointed a firearm at another individual,” reads a news release from RCMP on Wednesday. A police response including the RCMP’s police dog, drone and air services ensued, along with emergency response, crisis negotiation and emergency medical response teams. West District’s community crime reduction unit and explosives disposal unit were also deployed to the scene. Fire crews were in the area in the event they were needed. The man wasn’t arrested until 3 p.m. that day, but no one was reportedly injured during the operation. The RCMP says at the time, the incident didn’t meet criteria for an Alert Ready. “As a safety precaution, nearby residences were advised to shelter in place,” reads the release. Joshua Sinclair appeared in Fredericton provincial court on Tuesday and was charged with: He was later released on conditions and is scheduled to return to court at a later date.
