N.B. man charged with child luring, sexual interference after two-year investigation

A 33-year-old New Brunswick man is facing several child luring and sexual interference charges following a multi-year RCMP investigation.

Police say they received a report of child luring in the Campbellton area in November 2023. In May 2025, they executed a search warrant at a Duke Street residence, according to an RCMP news release.

On May 14, 2026, officers arrested Morgan Cooling-Lamontagne. He appeared in court on Tuesday and was charged with:

• three counts of accessing child sexual abuse and exploitation material
• two counts of exposure of genital organs to a person under 16 years old
• two counts of sexual assault
• two counts of making sexually explicit material available to a child
• two counts of sexual interference
• two counts of luring a child
• invitation to sexual touching
• uttering threats against a person
• making, dealing or possessing instruments for forging a credit card

“Throughout their investigation, it was learned that the man may have committed similar offences involving other individuals,” the release reads. “This is still an active investigation, and police are working diligently to determine if there were other victims.”

Police say Cooling-Lamontagne may have used the aliases MOMO and POOKIE to contact underage children via social media.
