Man suspected of breaking into Shediac home, stealing car from business: N.B. RCMP

Police in Shediac, N.B., are trying to track down a man suspected of breaking into a home and stealing a vehicle from a business in the community.

The RCMP believes the man used a brick to break a window at the home on Rue Chantellerault sometime between 10 p.m. on May 9 and 8 a.m. on May 10. They say the man entered the home, caused some damage inside, and stole a blue plaid coat before fleeing the scene.

No one was home at the time.

Police say the man, who was wearing the blue plaid jacket he allegedly stole from the home, also stole a vehicle from a business on Main Street around 8:30 a.m. on May 10.

The RCMP has released surveillance footage photos of the man in the hopes someone may recognize him.

According to police the suspect has a medium build, a bald head and a grey and white beard. He was wearing a white T-shirt, a faded blue plaid jacket, blue shorts and black sneakers.

The stolen vehicle is a red Toyota Corolla with New Brunswick licence plate JHB 961.

Anyone who recognizes the man or anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact the Shediac RCMP at 506-533-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
