Man charged for drug trafficking, carrying loaded handgun: Miramichi police

A 43-year-old man has been charged with multiple offences after a drug trafficking investigation in Miramichi, N.B., led to his arrest.

Jerod Nowlan was arrested July 28, and officers reportedly seized suspected fentanyl, cocaine, methamphetamine, heroin, hydromorphone, and a loaded handgun.

The next day he appeared in provincial court where he was charged with:

• possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of heroin for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of hydromorphone for the purpose of trafficking
• possession of a loaded restricted firearm
• carrying a concealed weapon
• possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
• carrying a firearm in a careless manner.

Nowlan was remanded into custody and is set to appear again in court for a bail hearing at a later date.
