Four Maritime restaurants make list of most romantic spots ahead of Valentine’s Day

If you’re looking to spend a romantic candlelit evening with a special someone on Valentine’s Day, four restaurants in the Maritimes could fit the bill.

OpenTable, a restaurant booking site, has released its Top 100 Romantic Restaurants in Canada list for 2026, and three spots from Nova Scotia and one from New Brunswick made the grade.

“Restaurants with a minimum threshold of diner reviews were considered and evaluated by a compilation of unique data points, including diner ratings, the percentage of five star reviews, the number of alerts set, the percentage of reservations made in advance, percentage of capacity and direct searches,” the list reads.

“Metrics were weighted to comprise an overall score. The qualified restaurants were then ranked by the percentage of reviews with the tag ‘romantic.’”

The three Nova Scotia restaurants are:

• Crème, which offers custom cakes and afternoon tea from its spot on Lower Water Street
• Drift, also located on Lower Water Street, specializes in East Coast ingredients
• Five Fishermen offers contemporary cuisine on Argyle Street

New Brunswick is represented by Italian By Night, a Saint John-based restaurant and bar.

OpenTable said it compiled the list from more than 900,000 reviews between Dec. 1, 2024 and Nov. 30, 2025.
