CHICAGO -- Illinois' Democratic and Republican gubernatorial candidates are among those cheering on the hottest sports team in Chicago.
The buzz in the nation's third largest city isn't for the Bears, White Sox, Cubs, Bulls or Blackhawks. It's 11 and 12-year-old boys who are taking on South Korea on Sunday in the Little League World Series championship game.
Both Democratic Gov. Pat Quinn and Republican gubernatorial challenger Bruce Rauner joined hundreds of people at in a South Side community centre gym to watch the Jackie Robinson West All Stars.
Rauner sat in a front row, bobbing his head at one point as a green-alligator mascot led the crowd in a chant to thumping music. Quinn sat toward the back.
Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel, who is a Democrat, is also in attendance.
Congrats to Chicago's very own Jackie Robinson West! We're all so proud of you. Good luck in today's #LLWS Championship Game. #GoTeamUSA -bo
