Facebook is rolling out improvements to the newsfeed that aim to offer users more interesting, diverse and relevant content.

On April 21, Facebook announced a series of updates had been made to the newsfeed feature following the results of their Feed Quality Program study. With the updates, more importance will be attributed to the time spent viewing a post from the feed, not just a user's interaction with it (like, share, comment).

Diversity will also be prioritized, following feedback that users disliked seeing too much content from the same source on their newsfeed .

The rollout of these updates to the newsfeed will take place over the next few weeks.
