NORTH BATTLEFORD, Sask. - Charges have been laid against seven people who are accused of trying to cheat the house at an aboriginal-run casino in Saskatchewan.

RCMP say the charges follow a two-year investigation into alleged cheating at the Gold Eagle Casino in North Battleford.

The seven include a live games dealer at the casino and six people who were patrons of the business, which is operated by the Saskatchewan Indian Gaming Authority.

All are from North Battleford and surrounding communities and all have been banned from SIGA casinos in the province.

Mounties say they were asked to start a criminal investigation after a probe by SIGA and Indigenous Gaming Regulators Inc. offices in Saskatoon.

The seven suspects will appear in court May 30 in North Battleford.
