According to Twitter, Canada was built on two simple principles: every citizen has the inalienable right to gourmet cheese served at an appropriate temperature, and that fancy fromage should be served, without exception, on a bed of unbroken crackers.
A day after CTV News reported that Auditor General Michael Ferguson had sent letters to 40 current and former senators about questionable expense claims, Sen. Nancy Ruth responded.
“There were a couple of times that my assistant put in for a breakfast when I was on a plane and they say I shouldn’t have claimed because I should have eaten that breakfast,” she told reporters.
“Well, those breakfasts are pretty awful,” Ruth explained. “If you want ice-cold Camembert with broken crackers, have it.”
