WINNIPEG - Winnipeg police have released the names of five people who died following a rooming-house fire in the Point Douglas neighbourhood.

Three men and one woman died in the wake of the blaze early Saturday, and police said yesterday that a fifth person died of his injuries.

The dead are 22-year-old Norman Darius Anderson, 54-year-old Maureen Claire Harper, 49-year-old Kenneth Bradley Monkman, 44-year-old Dean James Stranden and 56-year-old Robert Curtis Laforte.

A sixth person remains in critical condition.

Police say the blaze was deliberately set with some type of accelerant on the front porch of the house and spread quickly.

Forty-year-old Lulonda Lynn Flett faces five counts of second-degree murder and three counts of attempted murder.

Police say they are still seeking a motive, but have been told by witnesses that Flett had been in a dispute with one of the people in the building.
