An Ontario woman celebrated her 85th birthday earlier this week with an adrenaline rush by walking all the way around the top of the CN Tower.

Georgina Vokey, from Cambridge, Ont., completed the CN Tower EdgeWalk with several members of her family, including her daughter, granddaughter and great granddaughter.

It wasn’t the first time Vokey strapped into a harness and circled the platform that’s 356 metres above Toronto.

“I walked it on 80 and I said I wanted to come for 85, so here I am,” she said.

Cynthia Ayres, Vokey’s daughter, said she was ‘totally terrified” but that her mom has always pushed her to do things that make her uncomfortable, and this was no exception.

“I didn't think I would be able to do it,” Ayres said. “My mom kept saying, ‘Cynthia, you can do this.’”

Not only did all the women do it, but they curled their toes, leaned back and hung over the edge to sing “Happy Birthday” to Georgina.

Vokey called it the “experience of a lifetime” and vowed to do it again in five years when she celebrates her 90th.
