A recall of thousands of infant pacifiers also extends to Canada.

The recall involves Munchkin-brand Latch lightweight pacifiers and clip sets. The pacifier’s clip features a decorative cover that can detach, creating a choking hazard.

The pacifiers themselves are not affected by the recall.

There have been 10 reports of the clip cover coming off in the U.S. and Canada. Health Canada says no injuries have been reported in this country.

Approximately 16,000 sets were sold in Canada from July 2014 to February 2016 at retailers nationwide.

Consumers should immediately take the recalled pacifier holders away from children and contact Munchkin for a replacement. Alternatively, consumers can return the product and receive a refund.

For more information, consumers can contact Munchkin toll-free at 877-242-3134 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. PT Monday through Friday.

There is also information available on the Munchkin website or at the Munchkin Facebook page.

Health Canada reminds Canadians that if they note health or safety incidents related to any consumer product or cosmetic, they can file a report by filling out the Consumer Product Incident Report Form.
