WINNIPEG -- For the second time, Winnipeg is going to host the Juno Awards.

The annual celebration of Canadian music will be held at the MTS Centre on March 30, 2014.

The last time the Junos were in Winnipeg was 2005, when "Corner Gas" star Brent Butt hosted.

Avril Lavigne and k-os won three awards apiece at that show, which is perhaps best-remembered for k.d. lang's performance of "Helpless," dedicated to Winnipeg-reared rock legend Neil Young.

It'll be the second consecutive Junos to broadcast from the Prairies -- next year's show will be held in Regina's Brandt Centre on April 21 and air on CTV.

This year's bash was held in Ottawa, where Feist and the Sheepdogs led with three trophies apiece.

"Winnipeg has cultivated artists that have become part of our national identity -- from Neil Young and the Guess Who to Chantal Kreviazuk and Lenny Breau," said Melanie Berry, president and CEO of the Juno Awards and the Canadian Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, in a statement.

"Winnipeg's enthusiastic music fans have helped launch numerous rock 'n' roll legends, and we're excited for what's in store when we return in 2014."
