Just weeks after winning a Tony award for his role in the smash Broadway hit "Hamilton," Leslie Odom Jr. has announced he will be leaving the show July 9.

Odom Jr., who won the best actor in a musical Tony award for his role as Aaron Burr, confirmed news of his departure during a Facebook Live broadcast on Sunday.

"I am indeed leaving on July 9," he said.

"It has just been the most completely wonderful, totally healing and inspiring experience from beginning to end. I will never forget the people that I've met here. I will never forget all of you.

It's the latest major exit from the show. Earlier this month, "Hamilton" creator Lin-Manuel Miranda created waves when he announced plans to leave July 9. Co-star Phillipa Soo is also leaving to play the titular role in the musical adaptation of "Amelie."
