The #PurposeInTO hashtag was trending on Twitter after Canadian pop star Justin Bieber played an intimate show in Toronto's east end.

Bieber took to the Danforth Music Hall stage in front of a crowd of 1,400 for a performance to benefit the Stratford House of Blessing, an outreach centre in his Ontario hometown once used by the singer and his mother.

"It was so much more personal. You could tell he was just going with the flow and playing what he felt like," a fan told CTV Toronto's Heather Wright after the show.

Another fan told Wright she came to the concert hall without tickets, but was spotted by Bieber's dad.

"Justin's dad came out with his little brother and had two tickets. He saw me crying and I got tickets. It's the best day of my life," she said.

A group of four came to the show with tickets in hand, only to find out they were fake. But a bodyguard took pity on the group and handed the teen girls four tickets.

Hours after the concert, the hashtag #PurposeInTO was among the most-used on Twitter, with fans posting their praises for the show. The hashtag comes from the name of Bieber's tour, based on his fourth album called "Purpose."

Fans posted photos and videos of the singer from inside the concert, while others watched it on justinbiebermusic.com, where it was streamed for free.

"The livestream was absolutely amazing. So proud of justin," one fan wrote, using #PurposeInTO on Twitter.

"Words can't explain how happy I was to hear this live," another posted.

"He means everything to me," a third wrote.

"'One more' he said like 4 songs ago. Not complaining though," a fan posted during the show.

Others posted photos of Bieber's younger brother, Jaxon, noting how much the 6-year-old has grown.

"He's so cute," a Twitter user posted.

Others posted photos of Bieber holding Jaxon in his arms. Bieber's father and grandparents were also in the audience, according to fans at the show.

Many posted about a fan Bieber brought on stage when he sang "One Less Lonely Girl."

"I don't know anyone else who deserved this as much as she did," a fan wrote after the show.

"The One Less Lonely Girl is thanking God on stage and I honestly think this is the cutest thing I've ever seen," another said.
