The star of stage and screen John Malkovich dresses as notable cultural icons male and female in "Malkovich, Malkovich, Malkovich: Homage to Photographic Masters" at Chicago's Catherine Edelman Gallery from Nov. 7.

The exhibition is the brainchild of Sandro Miller, as a tribute to many of the photographers that inspired his own career.

As such, its images feature Malkovich impersonating Alfred Hitchcock, Marylin Monroe (twice), Albert Einstein, Simone de Beauvoir, Salvador Dali, Robert Mapplethorpe, Pablo Picasso, Ernest Hemingway, Bette Davis and Truman Capote, among others.

Though each photograph is instantly recognizable, not all are instantly, recognizably Malkovich, with Miller hailing him as "the most brilliant, prolific person I know."

The exhibition runs through Jan. 31 at the Catherine Edelman Gallery's Near North Side location; in the meantime, 31 of its 35 images are available to view on the gallery's website.
