The talk show host and MC of the upcoming Academy Awards ceremony tops the list of the most beloved TV icons in the US, according to a poll by Harris Interactive.

For the second consecutive year, Ellen DeGeneres has taken first place in the ranking, ahead of Mark Harmon, the star of America's most watched show, "NCIS." Jon Stewart remains in third place, also unchanged since last year, in spite of his taking a sabbatical from "The Daily Show" over the summer.

Talk show hosts account for more than half of the top 10 personalities. In addition to DeGeneres and Stewart, the list includes Jay Leno (5th place), Stephen Colbert (6th), Steve Harvey (9th), political commentator Bill O'Reilly (10th), and -- of course -- Oprah (8th).

Among series stars, the top ten includes Jim Parsons (Sheldon Cooper on "The Big Bang Theory"), Tom Selleck of "Blue Bloods" and Robin Williams, the protagonist of the new series "The Crazy Ones." Interestingly, all of these series, including "NCIS," are broadcast on CBS.

The ranking is based on a poll of 2,311 adults, surveyed online by Harris Interactive between December 11 and 17, 2013.
