WINNIPEG - A trial for a member of the Hells Angels has begun in a Winnipeg courtroom.

Rodney Sweeney has pleaded not guilty to aggravated assault and assault with a weapon.

A 14-year-old boy and a 27-year-old man were riding bicycles in Winnipeg on the night of Aug. 5, 2013 when they were approached by a man in a vehicle who attacked them with a weapon.

The Crown showed the judge a videotaped interview between the boy and a Winnipeg police officer done the day after the attack.

The boy tells the officer that a black SUV stopped and a man got out, and hit him with a weapon that left two cracks in a bone in his arm.

The trial is expected to last three days.
