Video of a racist tirade over a parking spot has gone viral online and prompted a police investigation in Abbotsford, B.C.

The two-minute video shows an enraged white man with greying hair, wearing track pants and a mixed martial arts T-shirt, spitting a slew of racist terms at Ravi Duhra, a Canadian lawyer of South Asian descent, who is filming the incident on his phone.

Police say the confrontation began when the passenger of a large truck took issue with a $110 ticket issued by a parking enforcement officer. Duhra, who was passing by, says when he took out his phone to record the heated argument, he became a target.

The man can be heard in the video shouting a wide range of racist insults, and at one point, he even raises his fist in a salute and shouts: "White power!" At another moment in the video, the man pulls out his phone and stands directly in front of Duhra.

"I'm not threatening you!" he shouts, from right in front of the camera. "Don't feel threatened!"

Duhra says he was shocked by the man's reaction.

"I didn't think he was going to be so aggressive and push me," he told CTV Vancouver. He said he felt two competing emotions running through him at the time: "one was anger, and also a bit of sadness too," he said. "Like, this guy is messed up."

Const. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department says they have identified the man in the video as an individual who is known to them, but no charges have been laid at this point.

"We are investigating," he told CTV Vancouver, adding that B.C.'s hate crime unit is also involved. "We're getting some guidance from them."

The parking enforcement officer, who said he was afraid and did not want to be identified on camera, described the whole incident as "pretty disgusting."

"He actually threatened me," the parking enforcement officer said. "I don't remember what he said, but he did threaten me."

Duhra says he's faced racism before, but not to this degree.

"There are people like this out there and if you don't get exposed to it, if you don't see it, you tend to think it doesn't happen," he said.

The video ends with the man still yelling at Duhra from the truck as it drives off. "Remember my face because I'll remember yours," he shouts.

The man's face has been seen at least 88,000 times in two versions of the video posted on YouTube over the weekend. Most comments on the YouTube clips condemn the man's actions, with many saying they are "disgusted" and "ashamed" that the incident took place in Canada.
