A "fire tornado" sounds like a natural disaster plucked straight from a nightmare. But for one firefighter in St. Albert, Alta., that nightmare became reality on Thursday when a brush fire broke out near the Sturgeon River.
In a video posted to Twitter by the local fire department, firefighters can be seen running away from a massive column of smoke and fire.
One man jumps straight into the river.
Despite the close call, the firefighter was not injured.
