HALIFAX -- NB Power says it is on track to have all customers reconnected Tuesday more than a week after post-tropical storm Arthur hit the region.

More than 6,000 households and businesses remained without power Monday evening, with most outages in the Fredericton and Woodstock areas.

That number was up slightly from the number of reported outages earlier in the day.

Utility spokeswoman Meghan Gerrish says customers will likely continue to see fluctuations in the number of outages while crews do their work.

Arthur made landfall in Atlantic Canada on July 5, downing trees and causing power outages across the region.

It knocked out power to more than 250,000 customers in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia at the height of the storm.

Nova Scotia Power said Monday that all but a handful of its customers have been reconnected.
