MONTREAL - The Transportation Safety Board says it's investigating a derailment involving a Via Rail passenger train in Montreal's west end.

A Via Rail spokesman says the locomotive derailed near the suburb of Montreal West earlier today.

Fourteen passengers were aboard the train, which serves the carrier's Montreal-Jonquiere and Montreal-Senneterre routes.

Via Rail says nobody was injured and the passengers returned to Montreal's Central Station for reimbursement or alternate transport.

Due to the derailment, Sunday train service between Jonquiere and Montreal as well as between Senneterre and Montreal is cancelled.

The TSB says investigators have been dispatched to investigate further.
