The Transportation Safety Board says it will investigate a fatal aircraft accident in Red Lake, Ontario. The Ontario Provincial Police confirmed five people died in the crash and there were two survivors.

Investigators will travel Monday to Red Lake, about 260 kilometres north of Kenora, to begin their probe of the accident.

It’s unclear what type of plane is involved, but seven people were on board aircraft and two survivors of the crash have been hospitalized with injuries.

The accident happened near the airport. It is reported to have hit several hydro poles and cut power to the area.
