The sky’s the limit for one 94-year-old Ontario woman who decided that age was just a number on Monday morning. Lorraine Fraser fearlessly completed the CN Tower’s exposed Edgewalk attraction in Toronto.

Wearing a bright red suit, a harness and an excited smile, Fraser stepped out on to the edge of the tower accompanied by her son and a granddaughter-in-law. She had initially invited 32 family members to join her for the experience, but at 356 metres high, the Edgewalk isn’t for everyone. The tower’s daunting height did provide a breathtaking view for Fraser and her brave companions, however.

“We could see to the falls (Niagara Falls), we saw the stadium, we saw the island. You name it,” Fraser told CTV Toronto on Monday. “It was all of Toronto and it was gorgeous up there.”

Fraser admitted that she was scared when the group headed for the elevator on their way to the top. She said she didn’t know, at first, if she could trust the safety equipment keeping her attached to the building.

“I couldn’t let go with both hands,” Fraser said. “But as we walked further, I was okay.”

Fraser said the idea to complete the Edgewalk came about during a conversation with her family at the cottage this summer. She said they asked her to tell them one thing she wished she had done in her lifetime.

“I said, ‘You know, I think I would have liked to go walk around the CN Tower.’ So they held me to it,” Fraser said with a laugh.

The 94-year-old not only checked off an item on her bucket list, she also tied the record for the oldest Edgewalk participant, according to CN Tower staff. The attraction has a minimum age requirement but not a maximum one. Fraser said the exhilarating experience was worth waiting 94 years for, and that she’d do the walk again.

The senior doesn’t appear to have any plans to slow down just yet. She still drives herself around her hometown of Oakville, Ont., a suburb west of Toronto. Her son, Steve Fraser, joked that maybe the family would book her 100th birthday celebration at the CN Tower. He also said they could probably squeeze in some sky diving between now and then.

When she was asked what her next adventure will be, Fraser was open to suggestions.

“I don’t know. What do you think I should do?” Fraser said with a grin.
