A late night Black Friday sale at a shoe store in Vancouver got out of hand when a shirtless man began using his belt as a whip.

A large crowd gathered at an Adidas store on Friday for the release of a rare shoe but the sale was cancelled when the crowd turned violent.

Police arrived on scene and arrested the man who was using his belt like a whip.

One witness said that there were a number of people in the road fighting.

Another said that someone tackled the man who was trying to whip people.

At least one person was injured, according to one person who was at the event.

But there is no official word on exactly how many suffered injuries or were arrested in the scuffle.

A raffle for the shoes was held Saturday afternoon instead.
