British Columbia residents were buzzing over the weekend after reports that a meteor was seen streaking across the sky.
Residents took to social media to describe what they saw Saturday night.
Saw a meteor tonight driving home from Whistler! I love you BC

One Vancouver resident set up his camera to record on time lapse mode, and managed to catch the meteor at the moment it streaked over the city. In the description of his video, Roger Ting said that he was initially trying to record the northern lights, but ended up getting the meteor instead.
Reported sightings of the meteor came from as far east as the Okanagan and as far south as Oregon in the U.S.
