Lexus marked its 25th anniversary this year with the new LF-C2 roadster unveiled November 19 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, a concept hinting at the brand's upcoming design direction.

The LF-C2 as a whole kicks Lexus design up several notches, but it makes its biggest impression from the front, where Lexus' trademark spindle grille has been filled with a "braided mesh effect" and given a whole lot of dimension, resulting in a sort of pointed nose that changes appearance as you walk around to the side.

Along the side the car gets a sweeping character line falling off the back of the front wheel opening, and a lower brake cooler intake ahead of the rear wheels.

The rear is highlighted by a pair of lower exhaust outlets linked together via one single chrome piece, a rear diffuser and a three L-shaped taillight elements per side. The eye-catching golden yellow paint envelops almost all of the LF-C2, and even flows into the interior from the rear deck via the centre console.

Lexus says the LF-C2 gives us a good idea of what upcoming Lexus vehicles will look like, pointing to a much more aggressively styled future.
