1. Round One: There were fireworks and fact-checks as Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton squared off against Republican candidate Donald Trump in their first U.S. presidential debate. You can watch the full 90-minutes here, along with a recap of our liveblog.

2. Injured soldiers: In a report released this morning, military ombudsman Gary Walbourne is taking aim at the Canadian Armed Forces for discharging ill and injured service members before they know what services they will receive from the Department of Veterans Affairs.

3. Royals in B.C.: The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are set to visit the University of British Columbia for a taste of the province’s cuisine when they visit a vineyard on the Okanagan leg of their royal tour.

4. Uber in Quebec: A judge will rule today whether Uber can continue operating in Quebec. Taxi drivers in the province have been trying to get a court injunction against a recent agreement between the provincial government and the ride-sharing company.

5. Water found? NASA has released new images showing possible water plumes erupting on Jupiter's Europa moon. The plumes are estimated to rise as high as 200 kilometres before raining material back down onto the moon's surface.
