Winnipeg Jets sign Viggo Björck to entry-level deal

The Winnipeg Jets’ most recent first-round pick has inked his first contract with the club.

The Jets announced Monday they signed Viggo Björck to a three-year entry-level contract. Björck will make $1.075 million a season.

The centre was taken with the eighth overall pick in the 2026 NHL Draft after scoring six goals and nine assists in 42 games with Djurgardens IF in the Swedish Hockey League.

He also represented Sweden twice last year – first at the World Junior Championship, scoring three goals and six assists and helping his country capture the gold medal.

He also suited up at the World Championship, tallying a goal and five assists in eight games.

Training camp opens for the Jets on Sept. 17, with their first pre-season game scheduled for Sept. 19.
