Two charged after drugs, weapons seized from Osborne Village home

Winnipeg police closed off a section of Osborne Street Wednesday morning for a "contained investigation."

Two people have been charged after Winnipeg police executed a search warrant at an Osborne Village home Wednesday morning.

According to police, an investigation started earlier this month regarding potential drug trafficking at a home in the 100 block of Roslyn Road.

On Wednesday, officers with the tactical support team assisted with the execution of a search warrant on the home and a nearby vehicle. Witnesses at the scene observed “less-lethal chemicals” used to get people out of the home where four people were arrested.

Officers seized 768 grams of heroin with an estimated street value of $410,000, 367 grams of cocaine with an estimated $30,000 street value, 396 grams of fentanyl with an estimated street value of $60,000 and 67 grams of methamphetamine.

A loaded handgun and ammunition were also seized.

A 37-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman have both been charged with multiple drug trafficking offences. The male suspect was also charged with several firearms charges.

They were detained in custody and none of the charges have been proven in court.

Two others arrested by police were released without charges.
