One person is in hospital after being pulled out of the Red River on Wednesday. Reports of someone being in the water led Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Services to the Provencher Bridge area around 1:30 p.m. A release from the City of Winnipeg said the person was found, rescued from the water, and brought to shore by the Water and Ice Rescue Unit. They were brought to hospital in critical condition after being assessed by on-scene paramedics. It is not yet known why the person was in the water or for how long.
