Winnipeg Mayor Scott Gillingham has made some changes to his inner circle, adding a new councillor, and changing roles for current members. Gillingham announced Thursday that Coun. Ross Eadie (Mynarski) is now a part of the executive policy committee as chair of the water, waste and environment committee, replacing Coun. Evan Duncan. It is Eadie’s first stint on EPC. “Councillor Eadie knows this city and the issues that matter to Winnipeggers,” Gillingham said in a news release. “His experience, dedication, and practical approach to problem-solving make him a great choice for this position.” One of Eadie’s priorities in his new role will be handling the ongoing North End Water Pollution Control Centre project. Eadie’s appointment makes it the first time the Mynarski ward has been part of the EPC since 1992. Duncan, who represents Charleswood - Tuxedo - Westwood, is now the chair of the property and development committee. Gillingham also announced Thursday that Markus Chambers (St. Norbert - Seine River) is now the Deputy Mayor, while Janice Lukes (Waverly West) has been named Acting Deputy Mayor.
