A 34-year-old man has been charged in connection with three break-ins at homes in Winnipeg’s Osborne Village neighbourhood last month, police say. The Winnipeg Police Service’s property crime unit began investigating in September after a series of residential robberies in the area. Police said three separate incidents occurred between Sept. 13 and 14 at residences in the 200 block of Stradbrook Avenue. In each case, they alleged, the person got in through a window. On two occasions, the suspect fled after encountering the homeowners inside, police said. In those instances, no personal property was reported stolen and no one was injured. Officers found the suspect walking in the 200 block of Princess Street shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday. Police said he was arrested without incident. The man is charged with three counts of break and enter with intent to commit an offence in a dwelling house and four counts of failing to comply with a probation order. He remains in custody. None of the charges have been proven in court.
