No injuries were reported after an uncontained ammonia leak at an industrial building. Crews were called to PepsiCo Canada’s Ellice Avenue location shortly after 1 p.m. Wednesday. In an email to CTV News Winnipeg, the city said its hazardous materials (HazMat) team found an uncontained ammonia leak. “Firefighters evacuated the building and all surrounding buildings in the area as a precaution while they worked on scene,” the release said. The city said the site was secured and the leak was contained. Crews left shortly before 5 p.m. CTV News reached out to PepsiCo Canada for comment. We have not yet heard back.
