After a chilly and cloudy Tuesday, seasonal temperatures and sunshine will return to southern Manitoba on Wednesday. Almost every town or city across the south will enjoy sunshine or a mix of sun and cloud, with daytime highs near 12 C in the afternoon. Central and much of northern Manitoba will be cloudy on Wednesday, with single-digits temperatures reaching between 6 C and 9 C. The northernmost communities have a better chance of seeing sunshine, with highs closer to 4 C. It will be a grey day across northwestern Ontario on Wednesday. The chance is low, but showers or drizzle can’t be ruled out in the afternoon. Meanwhile, a low over British Columbia will begin to head east, bringing rain to Manitoba as early as Wednesday in the northwest. By Thursday morning, rain with strong and gusty winds will spread to the southwest, then spread to Winnipeg, the southeast and northwestern Ontario in the afternoon. Environment and Climate Change Canada said the low will exit east-central Manitoba into Ontario on Thursday afternoon. Strong north winds are expected to develop in its wake that could bring gusts exceeding 90 km/h to the southern shores of the Manitoba lakes. Sunshine will return to the south on Friday. By Saturday, unseasonably warm temperatures will, too.
