If you have the opportunity to spend any time outside on Wednesday, you will be glad you did. In southern Manitoba, the sun is shining and the temperatures are soaring. South winds are reasonably light. Daytime highs are forecast to reach the low to mid-20s across the southeast, including Winnipeg. Meanwhile summertime temperatures up to 27 C are forecast for Brandon and much of the southwest. Most of northern Manitoba is enjoying a lovely spring day, in sunshine and highs in the mid to upper teens. Flin Flon could see temperatures reach 20 C Wednesday afternoon. The northernmost communities will be held to single-digit highs, but most will see sunshine. Churchill, on the other hand, will be cool and cloudy this afternoon before light snow arrives late this evening. The sun is shining on northwestern Ontario on Wednesday, with highs expected in the upper teens in light winds. If only conditions would stay the rest of the week and into May long weekend. According to Environmental and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), an approaching low will bring unsettled weather to the Prairies later this week. In Manitoba, precipitation will begin on Thursday. ECCC said moderate to heavy snow and freezing is likely northern Manitoba, and heavy rain across central areas. Southern Manitoba could see showers and scattered thunderstorms on Thursday. Strong southerly wind gusts up to 70 km/h are also possible. By Friday, cloudy skies and cooler temperatures in the mid-teens will return to Winnipeg. Expect even cooler daytime highs in the low double-digits over the long weekend. Saturday will otherwise be pleasant in the sunshine, before conditions turn soggy in rain by late Sunday afternoon or evening. Rain will continue on Victoria Day on Monday.
