After thunderstorms roared across parts of Manitoba Monday night, another round of storms is possible Tuesday. The chance of thunderstorms is more likely than not across southern and central regions this afternoon. The odds decrease further north, but there is still a thunderstorm risk as far as Tadoule Lake and Brochet. Thunderstorms that moved across the southeast, including Winnipeg, Monday evening turned severe, at times. The atmospheric stage is set for more storms in the region Tuesday afternoon, though they aren’t expected to be severe. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) said there is a threat of funnel clouds forming in southeastern Manitoba as an upper low moves close to the Ontario border this afternoon. But that will depend on cloud cover. If there is enough, that should limit daytime heating. Simply put – it won’t get warm enough for funnel clouds to develop. But if clouds break up enough, the odds of funnel development will increase along with the temperatures. Over the border, there is a good chance of showers with the risk of thunderstorms across northwestern Ontario Tuesday afternoon.
