You will likely have noticed the extreme heat and humidity we often contended with in July has been replaced by more seasonal, less humid conditions in August so far. Look for that to continue this week as we cross the mid-month mark. Normal August highs in the mid-20s are expected in Winnipeg over the next few days. Similarly, temperatures across southern Manitoba will reach around 24 C on Monday, from Melita and Brandon to Sprague and Pinawa. Most southern regions will also enjoy a mix of sun and clouds before clouding over later in the afternoon. Skies will be cloudy across the south on Monday night. Environment and Climate Change Canada said showers or thundershowers will track into Manitoba, north of the Trans-Canada corridor, on Tuesday morning. Meanwhile, low pressure at upper and surface levels continues over Hudson Bay. That will help bring scattered showers to the most northern regions of the province on Monday, from Brochet and Tadoule to Churchill and Gillam. Daytime highs should reach the mid to upper teens in regions closer to the Nunavut border this afternoon, while areas further south, including The Pas, Thompson and Island Lake, will be slightly warmer. Scattered showers will likely continue across northern and central regions well into this week. To the east, much of northwestern Ontario will see a mix of sun and clouds with mid-20s highs on Monday. There is also a low chance of showers across the region.
